INCEPTION
The school was inaugurated on 2 July 1989 by His Highness Marthanda Varma Illaya Raja of Travancore. We started with Standards I to III and since then we haven't looked back. We strove to formulate policies and systems to be followed for the achievement of our goal, namely, to develop our school into an institution with a distinctive nature laying stress on character building and wholesome growth of the child.

LOCATION
The school is located at Kakkanad about 1.5 km from the Civil Station, easily accessible from Kochi. The site is on a beautiful hill, commands a panoramic view of the lush green paddy fields and ensures an ideal atmosphere for a residential co-education school.

INFRASTRUCTURE
It's a sprawling, verdant 10 acre campus with 9 buildings comprising separate hostels for boys and girls, auditorium and kindergarten. The school has around 1600 students. We have a posse of 87 teachers and 33 non-teaching staff members well equipped laboratories and a library. We also have a computer lab with 20 personal computers.

OBJECTIVE 
Our endeavor is to develop an atmosphere of Indian Culture as envisioned by the founder of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Dr. K. M. Munshi and to build habits and accomplishments conductive to a fuller purposeful and noble life to blossom into an integrated personality. Besides we have Eastern and Western classical music (instrumental and vocal), dance, drama, painting, yoga, martial arts, sports, games and athletics. As part of computer education, training in the latest Information Technology Tools is provided.
